On July 15, 1789, the Virginia Gazette/The Winchester Advertiser carried a story about the killing of John Kennedy by one Robert Lott. Does anyone know if there are copies of these newspapers anywhere? Where could I find records of the possible trial and outcome? I am confused as it would seem the murder occurred in Frederick Co., but the 'orphans' proceeding for his children took place in Berkeley Co., Va. in 1792 with Hannah being named guardian. It does not say if she was widow, mother, sister or in-law or what. Robert Lott may be one of my elusive ancestors and I would appreciate any help. Pat Dailey [email protected]
