    1. [OLD-FREDERICK-CO-VA] NAIN, FREDERICK CO., VIRGINIA
    2. Coral, Nain, Frederick County, Virginia is located on the North Frederick Turnpike (Route #522) at Cedar Grove Road (Route #654). This is northwest of Winchester. Interestingly, my Grandparent's family were from Frederick County, Virginia as early as the late 1740's. Stephen A. and Mary "Polly" RITTER/RUTTER sold their property in Frederick County, Virginia in October of 1834 moving sometime after that to Wheeling, West Virginia. Stephen A. Ritter is located in Licking County, Ohio by1839. The following comes from "One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary of the Founding of The Village of St. Louisville" "In the early 1800's, Captain John Wagoner operated a waw mill and grist mill near the bridge at the south end of the present village of St. Louisville. That mill and four or five houses comprised what was called Newton Mills and Captain Wagoner was the first postmaster." "This mill was owned in the 1830s and early 1840s by John Bell. Much of the land to the north was owned by Stephen Ritter. These two men platted the original town of St. Louisville in 1839. Subsequent additions were laid out, one by John Evans in 1840, and another shortly thereafter by Wesley Coffman. Following the incorporation of the village in 1871, the Harris addition was added, and more recently the Van Winkle addition." "---------------------Among the general store operators were---------------James Holmes---------------------" "Early hotel-tavern keepers were Stephen Ritter, -----------------------------------" Stephen owned also owned a stageline operated by him and his family. The Ritter family is also buried in the Evans Cemetery. I don't have any information that the Holmes/Bullock family is married into our Ritter family; but it does look like they must have known each other well. Apparently coming from the same area of Virginia. Chocy
