John Hunter was born in Lancaster county, PA in 1740. He lived in VA. for a while probably in the Rockingham county area and then moved to Washington County, TN where he spent the rest of his life. He is buried in Cherokee Creek Cementery. He married Barbara Bowman and together they had ten children most of which were born in Va. They are as follows: John Hunter Jr. born 27 Nov. 1762 m. Eliz. Mary Marles in 1790 Chaestain Hunter born 1773 in Va. m. Robt. Fryer 14 Jul 1792 William Hunter born 1775 Va. m. Nancy Davis 21 Jan 1821 James Hunter born 1777 Va. m. Nancy Brooks Joseph Hunter born 22 Feb 1779 Va. m. _____ Kimbrough Barbara Hunter born 1784 Va. m. Henry Ruble Isaac Hunter born 1786 Va. m. Elizabeth Kizer Oct 1812 Does anyone have information about any of these children? I would especially like to know about Isaac. Was Eliz. Kizer his first wife?
