I live in northern Wisconsin, and the nearest LDS center is 150 mile drive, only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so it's very inconvenient. However, I DO go to Salt Lake City for 2 weeks every fall with my mother. So, this query & your answers are helping me plan what I'll be doing there this year! I have checked the deeds/land records and found nothing. But, I hadn't tried the earlier census records for surrounding states, so that's one thing I will plan to do. (They were in Pickaway Co, OH in 1850). I had not thought to check the later census records for the children, so will put that on my list, too. I really appreciate all of the help I've been getting from this group. You're great! Thanks to all of you! Carol Wilson cjwilson@win.bright.net
