Flo, I greatly appreciate you sharing the information about this book. I live in a very rural area and to get to any size library for good genealogy (Knoxville) it's 65 miles one way. But now that I know this book has something about Henry's, it's an excellant lead. I've purchased so many books only later to find out there was nothing at all in them that I could use. Thanks so much Patti [email protected] wrote: > Hi, Folks, > > Most libraries can do the ILL (Inter-Library Loan). > > Where can you buy the book? > "Pioneers of Old Frederick County, Virginia" > by Cecil O'Dell, Marceline, Missouri > Walsworth Publishing Company 1995 > Library of Congress Catalogue Card Number 95-92197 > > ======================= > > Info Provided by > <[email protected]> > Hearthstone Books, > Alexandria, VA > <http://www.hearthstonebooks.com/> > ======================= > > Info Provided by > Judy Woehrle > <[email protected]> > > Cecil O'Dell > 464 Morse Avenue > Liberty, MO. 64068 > > The cost is $49.50 plus 4.50 s&h. > ======================= > > Flo. > -- > <[email protected]> > > ==== OLD-FREDERICK-CO-VA Mailing List ==== > Search this list's archived messages! > http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl
Hello everyone! This is my first posting to this list. If I am on the wrong list I apologize and would appreciate any help finding the correct list for my question. I haven't done any research in VA at all as of yet, but recently found the VA marriage index 1740 - 1850 on line. I am wondering if anyone has access to the actual records. I am interested in learning about the Thomas JOHNSON and Sarah STEVENS marriage of 30 Oct. 1817 in Jefferson Co. Thank you for any help you can offer! jamie in california

I have been unable to connect him to any family from the area. The only clue I have to William's origins is that his land grant identifies him as being from Frederick County. William was married to a Martha ?, had sons James, robert, William, John and Hugh; daughters Hannah, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Sally and Jean. The land grant was near Shepherdstown (present day Berkeley county, WV) and bordered on the land of Isreal Friend. I can trace William & family from 1754 in VA through Bourbon County, KY to Shelby County, IL. William had dealings with Swearingen and Morgan family members in both VA and KY. The family was associated with the Presbyterian Church by the late 1780's as at least 2 of the Wright children were married in services performed by Mose Hoge. If you have information about this Wright family I would appreciate hearing from you. Michael E. Hi, Folks, Well, I guess it is time to say that I can no longer provide text. Lookups have to be limited to the index. Surely you understand that it is way too time consuming. Surely there are other copies of this book out there. I would even wager some libraries have it, or could get it through ILL. Thanks for understanding. Flo. -- <[email protected]>
