This was forwarded to me from another list - and it is true - Grave markers are actually being sold on eBay auctions - I have responded to eBay, as well as the sellers of these items - I am outraged! I hope this gets forwarded to every Genealogist and group on the net - and let others respond as well. Diana >> I copied this from another list. On July 15, 1789, the Virginia Gazette/The Winchester Advertiser carried a story about the killing of John Kennedy by one Robert Lott. Does anyone know if there are copies of these newspapers anywhere? Where could I find records of the possible trial and outcome? I am confused as it would seem the murder occurred in Frederick Co., but the 'orphans' proceeding for his children took place in Berkeley Co., Va. in 1792 with Hannah being named guardian. It does not say if she was widow, mother, sister or in-law or what. Robert Lott may be one of my elusive ancestors and I would appreciate any help. Pat Dailey [email protected]

Greetings: I do not have claim to the medal and the work you've done with it - here's hoping the Kintzels are reading this. I do belong to a german group (rather specific area of Baden-Wurttemburg) but I wonder if you think it would be worth my positing your offer to them? Perhaps they know of someone who knows... Can you tell me where to find the page with the "unclaimed medals"? Thanks, Cheryl L. Higgins [email protected] >
One and all-- Recently I scanned the unclaimed Civil War Medal Listings through the internet and was led to believe that one of my Hentzel ancestors had an unclaimed Civil War Medal. In the interest of discovering if I could claim such a medal I sent for verification of records and the medal claim request. Low and behold! Transcription or whatever has again taken its toll. The medal in question belongs to one John Kintzel, not John Hentzel. I have the records and application for claiming this prized civil war medal if anyone is researching the John Kintzel line. I would be more that happy to snail-mail this information to you. A civil war medal in my estimation would greatly inhance anyones research. Email [email protected] Please reference Civil War Medal. I don't open just any e-mail !!!!!!! Jan in Reno

A very kind woman made copies of a couple of pages from the book Pioneers of Old Frederick County Virginia for me. One page was a map labeled Leetown/Summit Point Area to Arden/Brucetown Area. On Middle Creek was labeled the land of Thomas and Samuel Brown. They are living near the following people: William Joliffe (which could be ILLIF), Edward and John Strode, Morgan and Martha (Strode) Bryan, William Williams, John Neavill (Neville), Morgan Morgan, Richard Morgan and a bunch of others. I really need to know more about these Browns. I need names of children, siblings, spouses, parents and migration locations. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
