Thanks to those who responded to my queries on a number of Latin?? words. However a couple of listers suggested I give more detail to enable a better translation, so here goes (and a couple more added) .... All were from Witton, Cheshire U.K. parish records, and the predominant occupation for that area seems to be in and around the salt mining industry. I guess there could be some mis-spellings due to interpretation of handwriting etc. 22-3-1689 Burial Ellen, wife of Robert Gorst of Northwich, labocaloris 29-9-1726 Baptism Mary, d of George Ghorst pro late Veckentrii, 1729 Baptism Anna d of Georgii Ghorst of Northwich, Salpuis (or Salfuis) & Barrowmaker 28-1-1721 Baptism Alice d of George Gorst of Northwich, lamionii 1727 Baptism Lucy d of George Gorst of Northwich, labin barrows 8-11-1722 Burial Ellen d of Georege Gorst of Northwich, lanionii (could this be misspelling of lamionii) 1727 Burial Maria d of George Ghorst of N, salifii Thanks again in advance for any responses John Williams
