Hi, Its a while since I brought any of my Phethean family conundrums to this list! I am trying to decipher a Cheshire Parish Register entry from 1606. I have hosted the image at http://www.phethean.org.uk/trees/media/isabella.tiff The PR extract on the FamilySearch beta test site implies that it is ³Isabella daughter of Willi. Phitheon died 3 March (1606)² but on inspection of the actual image I wonder if the true text is actually ³uxor² or an abbreviation which would make a lot more sense as William¹s wife was Isabellae and I cant find a daughter of that name.
