Surnames: Smith, Butler Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FZB.2ACE/749 Message Board Post: I am researching the SMITH family and found that a Sarah Caroline "Sally" Smith married 14 December 1949 ( but I don't know where) Mr. Butler who was born in Bartlesville, Washington County, OK. We have no idea who his parents were or when and where he died and where and when he is buried. I do know that they are supposed to have had three daughters but who they are and where and when they were born -- I have NO idea. IF you know this family and you can provide information about Mr. Butler, please respond to this posting. Butler Creek in Bartlesville, OK might be named after his family too, so I am told. Thank you for any information on the BUTLER family. I will be glad to provide SMITH information.

I have this information also but do not know the wife's maiden name. They were not married in Tulsa County and the only place that Louis would have spent any significant time would have been Bartlesville. This family lived in Bartlesville from about 1904 to 1920. There were still relatives in that area by the name of Kirk who moved to Tulsa later. I suspect that after the divorce of Louis and Isabel, her second husband adopted the children and their names were changed. We just have no information about the wife and kids.

In the 1930 census, it appears that Louis and Isabel are actually in Los Angeles, California. Louis is 28, she 25. He is from Kentucky, parents from NY and Kentucky, she from Oklahoma. He is a petroleum engineer and she is a legal secretary. I am confident these are the correct persons, as she is from Oklahoma with parents from N. Carolina.
