I am going to continue to look, I will be at the FHC in AZ in a couple of weeks and see what I can find there. I feel that some of these names have been changed to sound more English. I understand that the history center has the largest of its kind on the indian since most of them from the east were rounded up and sent to Ok. I am assuming that at least some ancenstory should be there, please continue to let me know if you find anything t all on burton or ingie and I will do the same for you for the Harris'. As for the Harris name I myself know being from Maryland for my whole like I know the name well and know many of them. Good luck in your search and again if I can help I will Annamary

Some of my relatives say she was Cherokee others Delaware. I'm told my gr-grandmother didn't like people to know she was part Indian so I don't have a lot of info to go on. I really don't know where to go after the Dawes list.

(Please remember that some will contain errors. During the WWI and National Guard time - 1916 - 1925 Billy, as many young men at that time, needed to be older that he actually was to sign up so for a while he claimed to be four years +/-older than he actually was - this was not uncommon for those wishing to get into the fray of WWI. However, according to her daughter she was full blooded Cherekee. Have found her on the posted list of the Dawes Commission Index Case Number 484 and card number R340 but can get no further, also looking for a connection of Ingie mixed with her. However this family was in Maryland which as you know borders on the Delaware line. Would be interested in anything you might be able to give me in the way to go about tracking. Anna

Surnames: Parker Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FZB.2ACE/802.1.1.1 Message Board Post: The bulk of the research is completed and I have begun to write so based on my last two books to finish writing, get the copyright, and publish probably in the spring (hopefully). As I still work I have to write in the evenings and on weekends. I got sidetracked with our newest book (co-author) commissioned by the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission "The Oklahoma Aviation Story". It was published by the Oklahoma Heritage Assoc. I should have proofed the other authors and he got something wrong on Will. He talked about him flying above the trenches. In at least two articles Billy stated he hoped no one did that. It was my fault for not catching it only error we found! I probably did more research on this than anything else I have done as I went back to the original sources (military records, birth and death notices, Phillips Petroleum, and others). Found some errors in prior writers, as it is sometimes easier to use someone else’s work. It sometimes took for ever to get ! areas like the State Department and others to look stuff up even using the Freedom of Information Act. However, Torrance was a big help as was Milton's, Billy’s oldest son, widow who still lives in the Denver area. They are great people and a privilege to have talked to. Carl

It was very interesting to speak with him. We are connected through a step family relationship, and the families had lost contact years and years ago. Also, I had found some old pictures of Will on-line that are wonderful. I'm sure you got some from Torrance. They are a very interesting family. When will your book be published?
