For some time now, I've seen your query for the name of the street beginning with "Pho," and suggest it might be Phoenix, but in Northwest Tulsa. It runs north and south and is the West boundary of Owen Park, the very first park in Tulsa. This area borders Osage County, and the North part of Phoenix, after the 500 block, after it crosses Edison Avenue, is in Osage County. The Tulsa Country Club is located just north of Edison, but after the country club, Phoenix continues through Osage County. Now, the connection to Sand Springs may be from the early Sand Springs Railway system and the trolley that ran on or near North Maybelle, which is just east of Phoenix, to the point of Owen Park. I do have early maps but have recently relocated my office (within my home) and don't have everything situated, but will make the effort to locate them or make calls to Sand Springs for you. All of the above is only a suggestion. I live less than a mile from Owen Park and Phoenix Avenue. Peggy in Tulsa Peggy King Truesdell e-mail: [email protected]
