Marilyn, I need to pipe up that the site you listed is at least four years out of date with regard to Tulsa's genealogy libraries. I wanted to give you and others who visit the Rootsweb OKTULSA list the updated information: The Genealogy Collection of the Tulsa City-County Library System was at the Tulsa Central Library until, I think, the early 1980's, when it was moved to the Rudisill North Regional Library. The Tulsa Central Library does have the best collection of Oklahoma history books and Tulsa city directories and a great topo map collection, and the Rudisill Library has a great African-American collection, which may include some related genealogy books. However, the Genealogy Collection may now be found at the "new" Schusterman-Benson Library where it has been since late 1997. The address is 3333 E. 32nd Place, Tulsa, OK 74135 (near 31st & Harvard). The hours are Monday - Thursday, 10 am to 8 pm, Friday - Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sundays (September through April) 1 to 5 pm. The phone number is 918/746-5027. The web site for the Tulsa City-County Library's Genealogy Collection is http://www.tulsalibrary.org/genealogy, and you can e-mail the librarian, Kathy Huber, at [email protected] The Tulsa Genealogical Society also opened it's "new" library in late 1997 at 9072 E. 31st St., Tulsa, OK 74145 (the Briar Village Shopping Center). The hours there are Monday and Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm and Wednesday, 1 to 5 pm. The phone number is 918/627-4224. You can e-mail our librarian, Janice Meredith, at [email protected] I hope to have something posted soon on the Tulsa Genealogical Society web page which shows the census holdings of these two genealogy libraries as well as the Sapulpa Public Library, the Broken Arrow Genealogical Society Library and the Oklahoma Historical Society Library in Oklahoma City. Our web page may be found at http://www.tulsagenealogy.org. We have only a small part of our catalog online, but our volunteers will be happy to check our holdings for a certain book or record. Also, we have a Research link which will allow visitors who live outside Tulsa to check with our Society Researcher about small research requests in the Tulsa area.
