Maybe someone on the Tulsa County list can help this individual Jeff B. Smith Tulsa County Coordinator and Archivist Mayes County Coordinator Cherokee County Coordinator and Archivist -----Original Message----- From: Betty Martin [mailto:btymrtn78@yahoo.com] Sent: Thursday, September 01, 2005 11:38 PM To: . Jeff B. Smith Subject: I was born in Tulsa 1922 into a family of early oil pioneers and am searching for information on their earlier lives before I was born. As I am the remaining member of the family I have only sketchy memories of the histories. Grandfather A. W. Gordon lived at 758 N. Denver,Tulsa, and migrated from the early Pennsylvania oil fields where he was at one time a partner with J.D Rockfeller. My Father was known throughout Tulsa, Muskogee, Jenks, Broken Arrow, Coweta, Osage Sand Springs, Okmulgee, etc: oil fields as "Red" Martin, an independent oil producer who migrated also from Pa, Ohio, and Kansas oil fields. Grandfather Gordon was elected Grand Old Man and Pioneer of Pioneers at two of the early Oil Expositions held in Tulsa. I can locate no information regarding that period (1910-1940)of the John E. Martin family living at 127 E. Jasper,Tulsa. If I have contacted the wrong agency please steer me to the appropriate location.
