It has a complete school system that has gone by that name. My daughter graduated from there in 1980 and I believe her diploma says Liberty Mounds--I would have to check. Now it is simply called LiIberty. To see the locations of both Mounds and Liberty, go to Google and type in Liberty Mounds Oklahoma (you need all three)Click on "Local results for liberty near Mounds, OK 74047" and you will get a map. On the Google page you will also see other mentions of Liberty Mounds.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZB.2ACE/1169.1 Message Board Post: 4-9-2005 There is no such town as Liberty Mounds. Mounds is located in Creek County, and Liberty is one of those cities that could be considered to be located in multiple counties (Okmulgee Co., Bryan Co., Sequoyah Co., Tulsa Co., Cherokee Co.) and the 2 towns are 11 miles apart. You may have better luck getting help/information if you posted the name of the decedent you were looking for and the date of death and city/state of death, plus names of spouse and/or children. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZB.2ACE/1163.1.1 Message Board Post: This is what I know about him or have been told about him. He was borned about 1922 to Veto and Roselee Cummings Hicks in Winston Co ALA I believe or ALA. I don't know the time frame that they went to OKLA. In the 1930 census he is 8 yrs old with his parents on Winston Co ALA. He did have a sister living some where I think around Tulsa. Her name is Mattie Pearl Hicks Grubbs. Now I don't have any contact with her. She is the only sister he has living. He lived in Olive Brankch MS at one time with his first wife and children. He went to Mini Tree Ark also I was told. Then he remarried again and had more children and lived in OKLA. Can you check the marriages records in Okla and see if you find him?? We have death index in ALA in our library. I thought maybe Oka had them also. We can get copies of death records for .25 cents at the Wallace State Library. or Hanseville Library or you can get them for $5.00 if you email them and they will send it to you. that way. Any record you can find on James William or Hosea Hicks I would appreciate it. In the 1930 census of Winston Co ALA he is listed as Hosea Hicks age 8.
