    1. [OKTULSA] Story in Sandsprings Leader April 16, 1920
    2. I have a photocopy of a story from the Sandsprings Leader Focus section printed in April 14, 1989. The story that I am interested in is titled "12 Horses Burn in Early Morning Fire" the original story is dated April 16, 1920. I have the story concerning the fire, what I am interested in is any follow up stories concerning the fire at Patton & Blanchard feed store. This feed store was run by my Great Grandfather, Frank Gibbs, I have a recorded interview of my great grandmother, Lizzie Gibbs, Frank's wife, were she talks about this fire, she states that it took days before they were able to put the fire out as it smoltered, the paper account says that houses 5 blocks away caught fire from embers in the air, from the newspaper account of the fire and the story from my great grandmother I imagine this was a pretty big story for the time. I am hoping that maybe in the days that followed there was more written about the fire, I greatly appreciate any help that is offered.

    1. [OKTULSA] Burton Beasley b. aft. 1900
    2. I am looking for information on my gg-uncle, Burton Beasley. All I know about him is that he was born after 1900, and appears on the 1910 Newton County census for the town of Richie. Family members say that he lived in Tulsa, but not when. I imagine that he was there in the 1940s, and perhaps before and after that. An obituary for my great-grandmother, Zena Mae Beasley Palmer, names three siblings, whom I presume to be survivors. This was in 1969. Thanks! - Heather

    1. [OKTULSA] Re: MOORE - SHELTON - GARDNER - ARCHER
    2. Ok.. I "assume" you got the e-mail I sent (considering the reference to 40 years.. heh) and not the message posted here last year.. anyway.. I had always thought J.B. was either Ben or Bill. I got J.B. later.. I think in Malissa's (his mother) obituary.. Since I wasn't sure I just added him to the list. Family stories has it that Rachel & Malissa were all or part Cherokee indian. Do you know any of Lloyd's brother's & sisters names? From my records of Ben he married #1, had a son, Lloyd; then married Estella Watson in 1912 and had Flossie, Thelma Melissa & Pat. Another interesting thing is that Some of my Moore family including Rachel went to Arizona & New Mexico for a time.. farming I think.. Feel free to e-mail me direct [email protected] -Kathy

    1. [OKTULSA] Granddaughters in Tulsa
    2. They would love to go to Big Splash Water Park at the fairgrounds, 21st and Yale. Fun shopping would be at Woodland Hills Mall, 71st and Memorial. The library is just north of the mall. Coneys to die for are at the Coney Islander, 71st and Memorial, NW corner, way back behind Toys R Us. Or the Coney Islander at Southroads Mall, 41st and Yale, theaters are there also. People who move away from Tulsa have horrible withdrawal symptoms at being away from the Coney Islander. Wonderful Mexican food is at Don Pablos, behind 51st and Yale by Celebration Station, another fun spot for the little ones. Have fun!

    1. [OKTULSA] Re: Judge descendants in Oklahoma
    2. Hi Dale, I descend from Margaret E. Judge (my GG-GM) who was Fletcher and Ann's daughter. I don't know if you received my direct email to you, so I thought I would try this. Do you know of any Family that has done research on Margaret, like her date of death and burial site? I have her listed up to 1890, then nothing after that. She married William Boyd 1878 White Co. Arkansas and had 2 daughters, then remarried D.F. Fears 1882 White Co. Arkansas and had 4 children in Franklin Co. Arkansas, her last in 1890. D.F. remarried in 1892 Franklin Co. Arkansas and I have found nothing on Margaret since. I have been searching almost everyday since last October with only a few leads that didn't provide anything definate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Billy Teague Email: [email protected]

    2. Linda Haas Davenport
    3. I found a great book that tells the story of Tulsa's early days in photos. Due to copyright restrictions I couldn't copy all of the photos. But I did compile an index and list a description of each of the photos. However lots of photos found in this book were also found in "The Beginning of Tulsa" so they are on-line. As I finish working on getting the rest of "The Beginning of Tulsa" on-line I'll add links from this book to the stories in The Beginning of Tulsa.
