In 1985 Tulsa had two newspapers, the Tulsa World and the Tulsa Tribune, and I would recommend that you ask Linda to copy both for you, if she finds them. She can also help you with the funeral home research. She's quick and she knows most of the funeral home staff personally. Our society has published funeral home records and has indexed them, so locating the correct funeral home should be fairly easy. Linda provides this service for TGS as a fundraising endeavor, but there is not a set fee -- just a donation. You can find a link to Society Researcher at our web site, www.tulsagenealogy.org, then click on Contacts. Or, send your request to Society Researcher Tulsa Genealogical Society P. O. I believe they moved to the Tulsa Area sometime after 1910. I think they are both buried around Tulsa. According to an old letter written by Annie in 1928 Andrew was no longer with her and she could see the skyscrapers of Tulsa from her home. Does anyone have a suggestion on which cemetery they might be in and how to find out for sure? Did Oklahoma record death records in the 1920's? Thanks Pam Lee
For some time now, I've seen your query for the name of the street beginning with "Pho," and suggest it might be Phoenix, but in Northwest Tulsa. It runs north and south and is the West boundary of Owen Park, the very first park in Tulsa. This area borders Osage County, and the North part of Phoenix, after the 500 block, after it crosses Edison Avenue, is in Osage County. The Tulsa Country Club is located just north of Edison, but after the country club, Phoenix continues through Osage County. Now, the connection to Sand Springs may be from the early Sand Springs Railway system and the trolley that ran on or near North Maybelle, which is just east of Phoenix, to the point of Owen Park. I do have early maps but have recently relocated my office (within my home) and don't have everything situated, but will make the effort to locate them or make calls to Sand Springs for you. All of the above is only a suggestion. I live less than a mile from Owen Park and Phoenix Avenue. Peggy in Tulsa Peggy King Truesdell e-mail: [email protected]

I just thought if I knew the street, when I check the census and found the street, if they were not listed I wouldn't have to go through all the rest of the census. Just trying to make it easier. Thanks for your effort. Juanita

Her grandfather was Benjamin Fowler from western AR and that is all I have on her family. I do not have a Greenberry in my files either. My great Grandfather was Greenberry Fowler. It has been said that there was three brothers. I think her father was his brother. They were located in Bastrop, Tx when my grandfather was born. Greenberry is buried in Eden TX. I am having a hard time getting past Greenberry as no one seems to know where they came from. The fowler surname seems to be one that has many branches. I would be interested in any information you would share. I don't have a lot on the family but would share what I have. Thank YOu, Paula
