    1. [OKTulsa] Searching for information on Doris EIleen LUCAS
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/EZB.2ACE/667 Message Board Post: I am searching for information on Doris Eileen LUCAS (my Aunt) she was born about 1924/25 to Alfred T. LUCAS and Margaret Mae McIver/McCiver LUCAS in Tulsa, Tulsa County, OK. She died according to family stories at age 4 from burns when she got to close to the stove and her pj's caught fire. I have written to every cemetery in the Tulsa and surrounding areas. I have heard back from 2 of the cemeteries. Is there some kind person out there that has access to cemetery and or funeral home records for the Tulsa area that could help me find this child. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you Janet E. Hawks

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Beasley, Vanover, Jackson, Woolsey, Palmer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZB.2ACE/666.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you so much! Here are the answers as much as I can figure out: 1. When did Burton Beasley live in Tulsa? I don't yet know. I would need to check city directories. It might have been in the 1940s, 50s, 60s. His older sister, my great-grandmother was there in the late 1930s, and early 40s. Her name was Zena, her first husband was Charles Woolsey, and second husband, Jack Palmer, and she was living in Tulsa under "Palmer", but claiming to be a widow. I think she was probably really divorced. She moved to Springfield, MO in the late 1940s, and then to San Diego, CA in the late 1950s. 2. I have no information on Burton Beasley's wife. 3. Debbie Sherwood's book was "A Redhead in Red Square" and was published by Dodd, Mead in New York in 1969. Worldcat says she also wrote "How to become a Model: Step by Step" (New American Library, 1971) and "The Story of a Happy Witch" (Lancer Books, 1973). There's also a book translated into Russian. (Moscow, 1993). Thanks for nudging me to look these up. 4. The sister who lived to be 96 was Jessie. She was married to a man named Jackson, and then she married a man named Vanover. Don't know the first names. According to the California death index, she was born 1/7/1899 and died in Los Angeles 1/8/1995. Also, I am wondering whether my Burton Beasley might be Edward Burton Beasley, who died in Temple, Bell County, Texas 6/25/1988. SSDI says that he was born on 8/25/1902 and his social security card was issued in Missouri. I just found him on the Texas death index after I made this post and have inquired about him on the Bell Co., TX board. This is a branch of the family that I was cut off from because of my grandparents' and great-grandparents' divorces, and I'm only now learning about it. Thanks for asking those good questions. - Heather

Surnames: Beasley, Sherwood Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/EZB.2ACE/666 Message Board Post: I'm trying to find my great-grandmother's brother. His name was Burton Beasley, and he was born in Exeter, Missouri about 1903. He was still living in 1969 when my great-grandmother died. The family says that he lived in Tulsa, and I believe he served in WWII. He had at least one daughter named Debbie, who was going by the name Sherwood when she wrote a book in 1969. I have not found him on the Social Security Death Index, and am starting to wonder whether he might still be alive. However, I did not find him in the Tulsa phone directory. One of his sisters lived to be 96, so longevity is a possibility. Any suggestions on tracking down a possibly living relative who may possibly be in Tulsa? Thanks! - Heather

I don't know if Edith remained in the Tulsa area or perhaps moved out of state. It looks like B. F. & Clessie possibly separated or divorced or moved to different states to retire. Looks like he may have been involved in the oil industry. Clessie died in December 1956 in Palm Beach, FL (Volume 1842, Certificate Number 37366). If you would order her death certificate from the State of Florida (for less than $5), it would provide valuable information (name of surviving relative who reported the death) and could provide the clue that could help you uncover surviving relatives today who could give you more information about Edith. I'll help you with the research if you mail me a copy of the death certificate after you get it. [email protected]
