    2. Thank you very much for your lookup offer. I do not know what sources you have so I do not know what to leave out. Please review the following and see if there is useful info for your lookup process. Thank you again, very very much. Main names in this: Minerva "Callie" WARD / James William "Charlie" HICKEY / Oscar Daniel HICKEY, Penelope WARD / TAYLOR / MORRIS Attends school in or near the town of Tallibenela, Pontotoc Co., MS per 1860 census. So Maybe a census to start with is 1870? Minerva came with mother Penelope Catherine WARD and siblings to the IT area. Perhaps without the father who may have died before they traveled. Penelope Catherine remarried a MORRIS, but I do not know when or if he was a part of the household while Minerva was growing up, prior to her first marriage to HICKEY. I say all of this because if there is a census in IT, Minerva may be under a MORRIS household name. She may have even been married with the name of Minerva or "Callie" MORRIS….. to HICKEY. I am trying to find the marriage info on Minerva WARD and James William "Charlie" HICKEY. I am trying to find out where Minerva WARD and James William "Charlie" HICKEY lived prior to his death and how long she stayed there afterwards. I am trying to find out if there was an article written about the murder of James William "Charlie" HICKEY and where he is buried. See below for story on murder incident. I am trying to find any information about the parents of James William "Charlie" HICKEY and where they were from. I have no information beyond him. I am trying to find out if Minerva WARD and James William "Charlie" HICKEY had any other children besides Oscar Daniel HICKEY. I think there is a Sally, but not sure. She was married to James William "Charlie" Hickey 1/22/1870 or 1/11/1870. It is said they were married in Loco, Stephens Co., IT. I do not have proof! See below for info/noted on James William HICKEY. She was married to a James M Rice Gainsville Courthouse, Cooke Co. TX 6/19/1879 (I have copy of marriage certificate). She was married to J C Thurman Gainsville Courthouse, Cooke Co. TX 2/10/1886 (I have copy of marriage certificate). She was married to WL Roberts Sr. on 2/2/1882 Marriage location unknown, someone suggested Prospect, OK(?) Were they also married at the Gainsville Courthouse, TX ? It is said that in 1889, 1891 Callie/Cally and WL Roberts (4th husband) came with others during the land run from Loco, IT to homestead by Burneth, OK Territory... by Tribby, Pottawatomie Co I wonder what the Loco area census would reveal in 1870, 1880 and 1890 ( if it exists). RE: JAMES WILLIAM HICKEY It is said that James William "Charlie" HICKEY (none of the below is confirmed by me) .. .born in Mississippi per 1910 Pottawatomie Co. census ( I have not seen this information) ….died when Oscar (his son) was approx. 2 years old. Oscar Daniel Hickey b 1/5/1873 in Ardmore, IT. (I have not seen proof of this birth location) … had a possible nick name of Will, in addition to nickname of Charlie/Charley ... said to be Chickasaw, or Pottawatomie ------------ full or 1/2 ..."Don't fence me in" song was based on the range wars of that time ... Charlie was an Indian Scout for Texas Rangers. ... Was killed approximately 1879-80 during the range wars of Texas ...Charlie and Oscar took the buckboard out to work on a fence. Charlie was killed while repairing, rebuilding or building a fence by some men who rode up on horses and shot him. Oscar was with him (approximately 5-6 years old) when it happened and saw it all. Oscar ran back to the house and told his pregnant mother. They went to the neighbors house and then all went to see what happened. Oscar's father was dead. .. Oscar Daniel HICKEY had a step brother W L Roberts, and two step sisters Mrs. Jammie/Jimmie Rice (m. McClain) and Mrs Maude Thurman (m.) Anderson. I believe Oscar had a sister, Sally, who was the baby born after her father James William HICKEY was killed. _______________________________________________________ I know this is a lot of stuff. Never was good at outlines and book reports. Also, not good at knowing which info to leave in/out for genealogy beings clues and help comes from the most unexpected directions. Karen in CA
