Joseph M. Stewart - 4th Postmaster of Terral, OK. Appointed June 19, 1897. His successor appointed July 11, 1914. Is there any more info I can find on this person? I do have his obit, but anything else that may be available. I think this is my grgrgandfather, Joseph Miller York. He came from Tenn. onto northern TX, Wise and Tarrnat counties. Then on to southern OK with his children (first wife dead already) in the 1890's. I'm hoping to find who his second wife was. A marriage record possibly? Here's his obit:::: Waurika News - Democrat: 23 April 1915 J. M. Stewart who has been suffering from heart trouble and dropsy for nearly a year, died at about 1:30 Tuesday morning. He was an old citizen of the town, having been postmaster here for about 18 years. He leaves a wife, five sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. The funeral did not take place until Thursday on account of some of the children being unable to reach here before that time.
