Hello, Everyone, My great- grandfather, Adam Eli Long (1852-1929abt.) moved to Texas from Virginia after the Civil War, about 1870-1872. After a few years in Fannin County,Texas, he moved to Stephens County, OK. That would have been sometime after 1885 since my grandfather was born in Fannin Co.,Tx. in 1885. I am trying to find out any information I can about the family. Would someone who has 1900 census records mind doing a lookup to see if Adam Eli Long is listed in the Stephens Co. census in 1900? Mildred) Harris Abe (Abery) (b. Jul 1877) Emily (Emma) (b. 1877) Most of these Pauls are buried at the Duncan South Cemetery. Have found descendants from 5 out of the 11 children. Hi Stephens County Members, Please help me!! I am desperately looking for any information on Joseph Copeland, born abt. 1886 in Arkansas. In one of his sister's obituary, it shows Joe Copeland was last living in Walters, Oklahoma in 1966. I have looked in Social Security Death Index and I am hoping this could be him. Joseph Copeland, born September 26, 1885, died July 1972. Residence: Duncan, Stephans County, Oklahoma. I have looked in Oklahoma Map and Duncan, Oklahoma is not very far from Walters, Oklahoma. Does anybody recognize this name?? Joseph "Joe" Copeland?? Or his children?? According to what I can decipher the 1920 Census, his wife's name is Bernette; Children: Oral C. H., born abt. 1911, Oliver Copeland, born abt. 1912, Manuel E. Copeland, born abt. 1915, Canal N. Copeland, born abt. 1918. It might be mispelt. Best I could read it. According to the pictures, the Copeland's children are: Eura or Era, Haskell, Lois. Maybe more children or grandchildren: Juanita, Kenneth, Lavern or Livonia, Mary. I would very much like to find his descendants. Does anybody have access to July 1972 newspaper "obit"?? Will this Joseph Copeland in Social Security Index be the same one I am desperately looking for?? Thank you so much for reading this letter. I know it is long. You are my only hope. Can you help me?
