OK Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Stephens?read=309 Surname: EDWARDS, CAMPBELL, HOLT ------------------------- I am searching for relatives of Richard Edwards who moved to Duncan, OK, in about 1900. I am not sure of his parentage, but our Edwards line is as follows: Hugh Edwdards and Evaline had three children all born in Tennessee: Nancy Frances Edwards b 1834, Carrie b 1846, and N. G. "Nick" b about 1850. Nancy Frances married H. W. Campbell; Carrie married William Leighton Holt. and we don't know who Nick married. I am trying to run down the Holt line and we have a record of Richard Edwards having lived in Duncan, OK, and then some of the family moving to Oregon. Does anyone have a record of any of these people in Stephens County in the late 1800s or around 1900? Thanks.

My g-grand father was Benjamin Thomas Caywood and my grandfather was John Edwin Caywood. I know that one of John Edwin's half-sisters was named Rosa Anna Caywood. There was also Dona, Ran, Robert and some others I have written down some where. I don't know John Edwin's mother's name....Benjiman was married once before and had John Edwin....then Benjamin married, I think, Mary Jane Lemmons and had several children, one of which was Rosa Anna Caywood. I have a tiny of paper work from a family member, her name is Rachel, that I could share. My main goal is to find out where the Caywood name originated. Thanks, Lesli Caywood Campbell

Joseph M. Stewart - 4th Postmaster of Terral, OK. Appointed June 19, 1897. His successor appointed July 11, 1914. Is there any more info I can find on this person? I do have his obit, but anything else that may be available. I think this is my grgrgandfather, Joseph Miller York. He came from Tenn. onto northern TX, Wise and Tarrnat counties. Then on to southern OK with his children (first wife dead already) in the 1890's. I'm hoping to find who his second wife was. A marriage record possibly? Here's his obit:::: Waurika News - Democrat: 23 April 1915 J. M. Stewart who has been suffering from heart trouble and dropsy for nearly a year, died at about 1:30 Tuesday morning. He was an old citizen of the town, having been postmaster here for about 18 years. He leaves a wife, five sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. The funeral did not take place until Thursday on account of some of the children being unable to reach here before that time. Mr. Stewart was a Woodman and the services were conducted by that order. -=---- This obit was sent via email and typed. If there is a copy of the origiinal, I'd sure love to have it. Thanks for any help!
