My Henrietta Temperance O'Quinn was born in GA, moved to Texas and first married George Washington Cooper who died during the Civil War leaving her with four children. She then married my great-grandfather James M. YORK, and they had 7 children. James M. YORK had also been married previously to Julia Ann WOODALL who died leaving him with two small children. Many of the O'Quinn's that lived in Georgia eventually ended up in East Texas down around Angelina County, TX. Some of them moved up into Oklahoma. You can contact the city of Duncan, Stephens Co., Ok., Shelly Amick, Administrative Assistant for Cemetery/Parks, Phone # 580-470-2088. Duncan Cemetery records are all on the computer, but not on line. My husband's great grandmother died in 1926, and they printed the location information, with a map, showing where she was buried. Duncan has a newspaper called the "Duncan Banner". I have gotten obits from "Duncan Eagle" from 1930s--don't know if it still exists. Oklahoma Historical Society will do obit lookups for you if you have a name, date, & area. Thye have a lot of newspapers on file.
