March 31, 1916 HOSPITAL FOR VIAN It was made known Wednesday evening that Vian is to have a hospital, the first in Sequoyah County. Doctors W M Hunter and Cecil Bryan have purchased the Sequoyah Hotel property on the south side of the Iron Mountain railway, and will as soon as they can conveniently, convert it into a modern hospital. Sequoyah County has never had an institution of this kind, but the practice of Drs. Hunter and Bryan has for the past year or so increased to such an extent that it has almost become an necessity for them to maintain an institution of this kind, and expect to have the building ready for occupancy within the next two or three months. Dr. Hunter, the senior member of the firm, needs no introduction to the people of Sequoyah County and adjoining territory, as he has been in Vian in the practice of his profession for the past nineteen years and has been most successful. Dr. Bryan is one of the best and most favorably known young doctors in the county being the son of Dr. W T Bryan of this city who has practiced medicine in and around Vian for the past twenty years. As the plans develop the Press will keep its readers informed on this much needed institution which will prove a boon to many a poor sufferer who can ill afford to leave the county for treatment.
