Billy Ray Dale Cowett, of Porum, was born Feb 27, 1935 in Gore, to Gayther Franklin and Mary Ethel "Mathis" Cowett. Billy died July 19, 2006 in Muskogee. On June 19, 1970 in Stigler he married Nancy Girty. He attended Church at the Porum Pentecostal Church of God. He was a Rock Mason. He is survived by his wife Nancy, five sons & their wives; Randy & Denise Cowett, Ron & Pat Cowett, Rodney & Paula Girty, Dale & Laura Cowett, Billy Cowett, Gayther Cowett, four daughters & their husbands; Teresa & Keith Ross, Maggie Girty & Wayne DePriest, Rebecca & John Dilley, & Sarah Cowett & Darin Robertson, one brother; G. F. Cowett, 7 sisters; Arleta Sheffield, Dorothy Ford, Rose Barnes , Lorene Irvin, Carolyn Carter & Velma McGee & Ruby Williams, 24 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Raymond P. Cowett, 2 brothers, Jerry & Alvis Cowett & 4 sisters; Mary Rhine, Winnie Morris, Wanda & Minnie Cowett. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., July 22, 2006 at the Porum Assembly of God Church, officiated by Reverend Don Riley. Burial will follow in Cramp Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Travis & Dusty Bailey, Johnny Cotner, Jason Taylor & David Cowett. and Tony Girty.
