Walter's parents were Charles Murphy Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Morris Floyd. Walter married Mamie Helena Echols (b. 13 Mar 1881 daughter of Elmer W. and Emma Gaines Echols) on 19 Dec 1897. Walter and Mamie had 8 children: Carl Bradley b. 7 Nov 1898 married Bessie Watson in 1919;Rossie Ruth b. 17 Sept 1900 m. Thomas B. Wofford in 1919; Ruby Mae b. 2 May 1902 m. Silas M. Spear in 1920; Charles Arthur b. 3 Feb 1904 m. Ruby Hardgraves in 1924;Emma Lucille b. 28 aug 1906 m. Clarence Lessley in 1923;E.W. b. 13 May 1908 m. buelah Wickett in 1932; Mary Delta b. 25 June 1912 m. Perry Lattimore in 1930; and Chester Lee who died in infancy. I am not related to the Floyd family, but my great grandfather is buried beside Charles Arthur Floyd at the Akins Cemetery near Sallisaw, OK.
