On Dec 19, 1934, two brothers, Jim Copeland and William Ike Copeland, got into a gun battle. Ike was killed, and Jim lost an arm according to family stories. I was told that Jim was not convicted of the murder as the jury decided it was self defense. However, a cousin of mine says that he was told that Jim ended up in a mental hospital later in life because he was overcome with guilt. I don't know how true that is. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how I could find out about maybe a newspaper story or court records about this event. Thanks, Becky
