Thurman McCullah 1919 ~ 2005 Muskogee Daily Phoenix May 25, 2005 Section B, Page 5 Thurman Horace "Buck" McCullah, a resident of Hitchita was born February 5, 1919 in Hitchita, Oklahoma to Verna and William McCullah. He passed away May 23, 2005 at Hitchita, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years 3 months and 18 days. He was married to Ruby Pearl (Duvall) McCullah at Checotah, Oklahoma on June 2, 1941. He was a Farmer & Rancher, and was a member of the McIntosh County Cattlemen's Association. He attended the Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church, was a member of the VFW Post 539 in Henryetta, and served on the Hitchita School Board in the 1950's. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bill & Verna McCullah, 1 brother: Billy McCullah, & 1 sister: Eunice Roulston. Survived by his Wife, Ruby McCullah, of the home 3 Children, Linda King & husband Roy, Morris, Oklahoma Lawrence McCullah & wife Linda, Preston, Oklahoma Sandra Pippin & husband Jerry, Wainwright, Oklahoma 3 Sisters, Olean Goad, Sand Springs, Oklahoma Mary Sparks & husband Joe, Hitchita, Oklahoma Faye Patton & husband Wayne, Ada, Oklahoma 6 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Jim Sparks, Dusty Crawford, John Wayne Carson, Earl Shockley, Alvin Potts, and Clint Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Crawford, Oval Ward, Alex Davis, Roger Morris, Ruben Cindle, J. L. Wadley, and C. L. Branson. The family requests donations to the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa. Services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Midway Elementary School Gymnasium in Hitchita.
