I learned most of this information through the Dawes Rolls (applications etc...) Does anyone else have any information on this family. My grandmother Carrie "May" Green was born in Sallisaw. Posted on: Sequoyah County, OK Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ok/Sequoyah/10828 Surname: davis, adams ------------------------- my grandfather william lester davis/adams was born 7/2/1922 to velma eastle davis,who would have been around 16 at the time of the birth. he was born in redland oklahoma. his father is supposed to be lester adams. i dont believe that they were ever married. dont have any info on him. velma would have went by eastle davis,she had quite a few sisters i only know a few names of her sisters jewell davis,chloe davis,dimple davis there are some more sisters i think and 1 brother i believe to be william davis. velma's parents were william and mary davis. i know that velma was born in redland in 1906 so i know they lived there for many years because my grandfather was born there in 1922. he later changed his name to adams sometime in the early 1940's when he joined the us army. my family always called him jr so we always thought his fathers name was william lester adams sr. but now we think it is really just lester adams. if anyone could give me info on where i might look for records such as school,birth,anything like that it would be greatly appreciated. also i cant seem to find sequoyah county in the 1920 census. is it listed under another county.
