Looking for HANEY, WEIR, ADKISON, MATTHEWS, PATRICK, SISSON, BERRY, HARRIS. Most of these families were in and around the Sequoyah Co., I.T. area by the 1900's. My Haney family was "lost" to my researching efforts in 1900 . My direct line is from a daughter of Henry C. Haney (b 1822 in S.C. and died 1883 in Yell Co., AR.) I believe I still have family (Patrick, Berry and Harris) in the Sallisaw area but have lost contact - many years ago. My Adkisons are my brick wall. I was told my gr-grandfather was buried in Red Oak - James William Adkison b Jan 1860 d Jan 1912 - but I have never been able to locate his burial place, death certificate or any records on him. His first wife, Mary Elizabeth Howell, died (also have no information on her) and he then married a woman named Harriett Patrick with children Kate and Forrest.
