    3. Terry, I have posted this before, but maybe it's time to post it again. If you know the county where someone died, it's cheaper to call the funeral homes in the area, and ask for a funeral record. (With all the 10-10 numbers we can call now, it's cheaper than a stamp.)Almost any of them can tell you within 2 minutes if they were used for the funeral. If they were, they will send you a funeral record. It's free, but you should offer to send a SASE. There is a lot more info on the funeral record than there is on a death certificate. It even has a list of the survivors, and some of them have their addresses. The info for a death certificate is taken from the funeral record, so you can see you get a lot more. When you ask for a death certificate, your are charged $10 whether they find one or not. Penny Gardner mailto:[email protected]
