The Stout Funeral Home is located in Wewoka and is still operating. The name has changed a couple times over the years. It was Stout and Sarber earlier. The STOUT, was Archie STOUT. Archie started working as a young man with a funeral home in Holdenville. If I remember right, It was with the Mr. HUDSON that had what was then the Hudson Funeral Home and is now Hudson-Phillips. I believe that Archie bought out Mr. SARBER in at a guess late 60's or early 70's. He ran the service until his death. At that time, Stout Funeral Home was bought out by the PHILLIPS family. This would be the same Phillips that own Hudson-Phillips of Holdenville. Archie is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. He was married to Florence, I think it is. They had 3 children. Florence is now married to a CHRIST and still lives in Wewoka. For what it's worth, They told me that their records run back into the 40's. Early records were lost to fire. And I would like to add that the girl that helped me at the Funeral home was great to work with. Very understanding and was willing to do what ever she could to help. Yes there was a fire that destroyed earlier records..but I'm not remebering the years right of hand.
