I am looking for info on the spouses of 3 of my Cherokee Ward direct ancestors: John Ward m. Catherine McDaniel, b abt 1770. Her mother was called "Granny Hopper" and was a daughter of Chief Kanagatoga, known as "Old Hop". Does anyone have info on this family? John's son, George Ward, m. Lucy Mayes b 3/15/1789 in GA. She was sister of Samuel Mayes and aunt of Cherokee Chiefs Samuel Mayes Jr. and Joel Mayes.. Who were Lucy's parents? George's grandson, Joseph Lynch Ward was a Cherokee Judge and married Alice N. Scott b abt 1850, m abt 1875 (from Kentucky) Who were Alice's parents? Gordon W. Pace
