I don't want to tell anyone how to post, but [always one of those isn't there] I do have a couple of suggestions. Use them or not, I don't mind. Placing surnames in all CAPS is kind of nice. It lets you scan an otherwise unconnected email for possible connections faster. Turning off the "quote message in reply" is nice also. It saves bandwidth on the web and in the archive. It also speeds download of messages. If you must quote, cut and paste the pertinet sections int the new message, usualy with a "(snip)". Some email servers don't handle "MIME" formatted messages at all and others make real hash of the message. Turning off "MIME" is a pretty good idea most of the time. Genealogy isn't just the facts and figures about our ancestors, it is also a study of history. If you have somthing of general interest post it back to the group. Its a tough call sometimes as to post or not. Sometimes a historic story or funny thing we find is a nice break from names and dates. If anyone is interested I have a funny little story about census takers from another list that I would post as an example. I'll get off my soapbox now. If you like my suggestions use them. If not, don't. Bill Walsh
