I find one of the map cd-roms a great source of help in understanding where my ancesters lived. I can zoom in and out, print, anotate, trace roots and distances and do just about anything else I want. I've had three different mapping software titles and find Microsoft Streets is the one I like most [not an add just my opinion]. Bill Walsh
