My grandfather, George Arnett Cales, rode in the Cherokee Landrush of '93, and staked a claim near Ponca City. I have lots of information including a newspaper account of the above and a poem his sister wrote about it [I'm sure that will evince an avalanche of interest!!!<G>] George was a building contractor and farmer who moved all over the state, had 11 children including my father Raymond, b1895 in Mountain Home OK, d1983 near Tulsa. Also of interest to some might be my great-grandfather, Richard Howard Brock, who first came to OK territory as a "missionary" to the Indian tribes.
