Sorry to put this out on multiple lists but for the life of me cannot find the message I recently saw mentioning this man as having adopted someone into his family. If anyone is working on this family I would like some info...particularly any descendants. In my husband's grandmother's scrapbook there is an article mentioning that Samuel Houston Mayes, the grandson of Chief S.H. Mayes will be playing in concert in Tulsa with the Philadelphia Symphony on April 27 (no year given). Next to the picture of him, his grandmother has written "Pat's cousin". Pat is my husband's mom. Does anyone have any info on this family?
