Thank you, I have had a number of response's from the wonderful people of Oklahoma. I am unable to go to the suggested places as I am in California. I spoke to several elderly family members and they said that they attended Hershel Oxfords Funeral, and that he also was buried in Lehigh, thank you for the corrected name of Ft. Sill. I still have a living gAunt she is 92 and lives in Atoka, I have a hard time on the phone with her as she is now deaf and blind, but has a clear mind, but she can never quite understand what my questions are. I have a copy of the funeral card on George washington Oxford he died in Colgate on 2 Feb. 1964, service was conducted at the Baptist Church in Lehigh by Rev. Lee R. Newberry, burial was at Lehigh Cemetery, Service under the direction of SLATERS. Susan A. Cate Oxford died 1889 and also in Lehigh I am told that we have a family plot there. In the old family bible is has a H.O. Oxford should be Hershell died 23 Jan. 1880 I also have that George Washington Oxford worked in the coal mines at Midway abt 1906-1912 then farmed then became a guard at McCalister Prison. Once I get thru the challange of John Collins Oxford, I will once again ask for help on my Mother side of the family, they were from Carnigie ( need correct spelling) sirnames HATTON-DAVIS, my mother passed away 15 April 1996 and her ashes are at the Holy City I am unsure of where that is, it was her wish so it was granted. Again, thank you all for your help, I realize I was born in Ca. but No body can't say I don't have okie blood, Cherokee, Choctaw and maybe a few more. Thanks Debbie Oxford Long
