I got to the OHS at 9 am and only stayed til 11:30 and then came home for lunch, am returning this afternoon to do some census lookups and more Newspapers. Here is a list of what I got this morning: HURD (gee that is me, how did I get to the top of my own list??) 3 obits of family members. 8))) new info to digest!! yippee GERELDS: Family history page from Pottawatomie County History book. No entry for Stiles family, except on the GERELD family page. Have copy of the page, will be typing the info to you email this evening. OWEN - No obit in Shawnee paper for Oct 3-10, 1906. Did find your cemetary record and emailed it to you. WARD-Copied off the entire list of WARD in the 1896 CHOCTAW Census. There are many WARD in the 1890 Oklahoma Territory Census as well, will be working on this this afternoon. LEDFORD: Copied off the Byars cemetary listings, will send off any LEDFORD names in it to you in Email BRIM: No BRIM in 1890 Oklahoma Territory Census (please keep your Twin Territories straight, now, don't panic, there is still Indian territory) TACKETT No TACKETT in 1890 Oklahoma Territory Census will be looking at 1900 this afternoon. PLEW/Plue Your cemetary listing is for an infant, there are no dates. It is Fairview Cemetary, City of Vinita, Craig county. Your stone IS however, by itself in a row, according to a map. 8/ Stone reads: J. C. Plew, Infant. LIVELY : I have Emma Lively's obit. Will be copying it to you email. Looked for William Henry but did not find it in the paper. I may have missed it though, the obits are scattered throughout the pages, and not in a designated page, so will take some time. Interesting side note, however: did you know that William Henry died the same day as the Alcatraz riots? LEMASTER: No mention in the OKC paper of the drowning of your family member, and it is not listed in the WPA index. I am going to look in Lawton and Altus papers. STEELE: (as an extra) I found a front page story of a child that died from drowning : Max R. STEELE so I copied it to place into OKBits. Seemed like I did more this morning...oh well, 2 and a half hours goes by sooooo fast!! Nalora
