    1. [OKROOTS-L] Search Engine frustration
    2. Lon & T. Whisler
    3. So many people have sent messages to me telling me to use the Search Engines. That is what I have been doing for the past two months. I found some names to email but only one of those has had any info for me. Most of them are returned as UNKNOWN. I did find my folks on one but they have NEVER been on the Internet. For the most part, it looks like info copied from very old phone books. That is why I requested info from new phone books in my former post. Thanks for the advice. And Thank You Very Much for those of you who are researching my names. I do appreciate it from the depths of my heart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have an Actually Better Day. I have searched the Search Engines for ME & I am not there. I assure you, I am still around! We've lived in this house 2 years. We've had our own website 2 1/2 months now. I've been doing newsgroups and email that long. My husband has been in the same business 18 years. I did find my niece at an address that she moved from 3 years ago. I did find my husband's business at an address he moved from 6 years ago. We have an 800# and are constantly getting wrong number calls. I just typed some of them in and got "No matches found" on everyone of them. Before I start calling people asking, "There might be a possibility that we are related. Do you do genealogy?" I would like to have a little better assurance that the people I am trying to reach still live there. I haven't found any connections on the Internet yet except thru email. And I haven't found any connections to my ancestors that way. I know it is possible, but I would like to! branch out in other areas, too. I didn't find anything on Switchboard that would narrow my search down to a certain state. If you can tell me how to do that, please do. Before I had a computer, I looked over the shoulder of my niece while she was looking at a screen full (about 30 lines) of names, addresses, and phone #s of the same surname. THAT is what I was hoping to find. I don't know if it was a program she has or with her AOL service, but I haven't been able to find anything like it. Since most of what I have found is not current, hers may not be either. I would much rather have current email addresses but not everyone has email. It may be a while before I can get back to the county courthouse where I hope to find some info, but the state library did not have what I need. I KNOW these people existed! I have a few pictures! I just can't find any connections and dates. :( T. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have an Actually Better Day. Please Visit http://www.wimall.com/talonwhisler Don't forget to sign the Guestbook!
