There was a State Hospital inNorman, OK in the early 1900s. I had a great aunt who was in the hospital for awhile and I had a cousin who worked as a nurse at the hospital. I don't know if it is still there, but a search engine may help you there. I don't know the official name of the hospital. In the 1930s it was just called the "State Hospital." As for your ancester being buried there, I don't have an answer. There may have been a cemetery there at one time. You could check with the Primrose Funeral Home in Norman. They are one of the oldest and may be able to provide you with some information. Their phone number is (405) 321-6000. Another older funeral home is the Mayes FH; phone (405) 329-9292. Another source is Evelyn Parker of the Oklahoma Geneological Society. Her phone number is (405) 329-8551. And, as a last resort, you could write to the Oklahoma State Health Department, Bureau of Vital Statistics, and ask for a copy of a death certificate. Good hunting. Jackie Hawley San Carlos, CA
