    3. Looking for information on the AUTERSON family. William J. Auterson & wife Emily Spurlin{g} left Kentucky to move out west just after 1872. His oldest son, Henry Franklin Auterson, born March 2, 1861, in Fentress County, Tennessee, married Mary Ann CLIFTON, January 18, 1880, in Benton County, Arkansas. Their children were Catherine Cordelia "Delia", born 1881, in Benton County, Arkansas; John Henry, born 1885, in Texas; Charles, born 1887, in Oklahoma; Frank, born 1889, in Oklahoma; Simon Lee, born 1891, in Oklahoma; James Arthur, born 1893, in Claremore, Rogers County, Oklahoma; Jesse Loyd, born 1895, in Moses Prairie, Mayes County, Oklahoma; George, born 1901, in Locust Grove, Mayes County, Oklahoma; and Maggie "Sally" L., born 1903, in Locust Grove, Mayes County, Oklahoma. Related families by marriage include WHITE, HARLESS, JONES, LEWIS, BURNS and BAY. It would appear the AUTERSON family in Oklahoma settled there by at least1887, in the Mayes County area. Most of these families ended up living in and around Ponca City. Henry Franklin AUTERSON had a brother named James David Lee AUTERSON, born 1864, who also settled in Oklahoma from Missouri. He married a woman named Leanne {?}. Their children include Clay, Letha, Rosie May, William J., and Johnny C. AUTERSON. I would appreciate any information on the AUTERSON and related families as well as any information regarding the settling of this family in Oklahoma. I found them in the 1910 and 1920 census' but could not located them in the 1900 Indian Territory. Any ideas? Could someone help me locate them in the 1900 census? Thanks!
