What is on the microfilm usually IS the original permit. I may actually see your family member's HANDWRITING. Which is real creepy, let me tell you when it is one of your own. Think about how familiar your father's handwriting, or your mother's or your grandmother's is to you.... On Indian rolls there is a bunch of written stuff, and people were asked all kinds of questions. pretty cool look up actually, but it does take some time. As far as the Cook/Dalton people, a LOT is in newspapers. There are, of course books that have been written and they might be available for loan. Some of them are pretty extensive and give footnotes and source material, sometimes an outlaw has a better geneaology documented than a president. Nalora
