It is against the law to deface stones or destroy a cemetery. A cemetery in public property. Go to the local courthouse and make sure the cemetery is recorded. Once done that property should be protected by law. Any person or corporation destroying it can be put in prison and or fined. You might also check with any genealogy society in that county. If worse comes to worse. make a trip up and record as many as you can..
