Hi all, In light of what has been happening about the Clairmore Cemetery and many others across our U.S.A.. In the County in which I live in , in California a group of folks started a Cemetery Historical Society that goes to the lost family cemeteries and restores them. They had fund raisers and lots of donations in order to bring the old dilapidated cemeteries back to respectable standards. Where there were no head stone or the ones that were there that were badly broken were repaired and replaced and added. Our local monument place donated the stones, lumber companies donated fencing and other materials and nursery's donated their goods. The Society has completed one project and are now working on another. The land owners were afraid that they would lose their land with the Cemeteries being known so the County drew up agreements with the land owners that they would not lose the land nor would they have to maintain the portions that the cemeteries were on, the historical group has agreed to keep up the maintenance and the County agreed to set aside funds to help. So in all we here in Ca. have had a win win situation and the deceased are now being respected.
