I tell this story to my family everytime I can until they are sick of it so since you are a captive audience you get to hear it. When I was growing up my Dad went to school at Norman several summers. We lived on the South side of the campus in what they called Vet housing. People are using the houses for chicken houses now. Anyway we snuck under the fence to go swimming in the Naval Base family swimming pool. They didn't know the difference and neither did my Mom. We also walked down the railroad tracks to the station and it was always full of sailors. I look for the hill every summer when I come home. It was used for artillery shelling was called the North Base. Pat
