Leona, Hi, I'm new to the Oklahoma list and am eager to seek help. I know almost nothing about my grandmother, Gertrude Clara BECKER m. Guy C. ZINGERY, Sr.. According to my father's birth certificate, she was 24 when he was born Dec. 27, 1921, in CA. I believe my grandfather met her in OK before they moved to CA and then moved to TX where she died in San Angelo in 1931. I understand Gertrude had three sisters, Hannah, unknown, and Rose Bevington. That's about all my Dad can remember except that one sister was postmistress in Wawoka and Gertrude's father lived in a big house in Oklahoma City and had the first car (?) there. I'd also like to learn about the members of my ZINGERY family while they lived in Oklahoma. They split up, I believe and went separate ways. I went to the Newberry Library in Chicago to check the census data, but they had none for OK. I don't even know where my grandmother was born. Are there any suggestions of where I could start?
