    2. Just had to take a break from working on Taxes and let everyone know, I finally found where and when my grandfather died. All this time I've looked in OK, since that is where we're from and he was supposed to be there. I got wind that he could have been in Amy, Mo. and I sent a query to them. Within 2 hrs. I had his death date, pictures of his head stone and old farm land emailed to me. I was quite shocked to say the least! He was the first person buried in the Amy cemetery. The group in Howell Co., Missouri are really warm and welcoming people. I highly suggest if you think your family could have been in Howell Co., Missouri subscribe to their email group. They are really helpful and go out of their way to help people. Anyway, one brick wall done, but as always another will take it's place. LOL Paula/Oregon

It's a shame we can't enjoy something without somebody out there wanting to make a dollar or too.The goverment and these sort of kinds must not appreciate their ancestors very well. You can tell they sure didin't appreciate their parents, if they have to stoop this low to charge in finding ancestors. I really am thaanking for all the people who have helped me so far in this family genealogy. Thanks, again. Kaye Morrison Abram (Idaho)

    2. Kathleen, We appreciate your being our List Mom and all the patience and work you put into maintaining this list. I often think people forget when they were first starting out. :) We never know who could be on the other end of an email, it could be a new young in age person or a very elderly individual just having the time to start their search. Compassion and patience is the "keyword" not just because it could be a relative your looking for, but because it's the right way to behave as a human. You have been wonderful, firm but kind, in your handling of what few skirmishes we occasionally have flare up. I welcome your intolerance of people being ugly for whatever reason. Thanks for being there for all of us! Paula/Oregon

    3. Dear List Members, I belong to many mailing list besides the ones I am List Mom for. I had a real eye opener this weekend on several of them and it made me appreciate each of you more than you will ever know. I saw members putting each other down, demeaning one another, screaming at each other if one could scream via an e-mail. I saw new members leave because they were made to feel foolish only because they did not know the rules of the list. I feel blessed to be the List Mom of your list and I thank you with all of my heart for the manner in which you handle yourselves on it and for the way you treat each other. Because of each of you I am able to take care of as many lists and I do - and love each and every moment of it. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

You do not have to pay to get to any site in USGenWeb of which Macoupin County ILGenWeb is a part of. Right here, there is no charge to get to all the counties in USGenWeb. http://www.usgenweb.org/statelinkstext.html We are all hardworking volunteers to have genealogy information free for researchers. I have found links to our Macoupin civil war rosters, censuses, which we spent many hours of volunteer time now to have unknowing researchers pay a membership to click on a link to view our work. Macoupin County ILGenWeb volunteers have put over 1400 pages of free information and continuing to work to get more pages up. If any person finds our complete work in their membership, please notify me. Please pass this information onto any list. Let's try to keep these ripoffs from making their pile of money from our volunteer work. Please pass this onto any list you might be on. Hopefully, this site will be removed soon if not sooner. Thanks for listening. Gloria ------------------------------------------ beginning of forwarded message. This is forwarded with permission. Please share with other USGenWeb Project lists.
