    1. Re: [OKROOTS] From List Mom - Please Read - Regarding Living Persons
    2. Kathleen I would like to suggest to people that want newspaper obit look ups to put as much information as they know on their request. For those who do not know, in the older newspapers there was not necessarily a Obit section as there is now. They were scattered throughout the entire paper, wherever they had a space to fill. The present format used by most papers relating to obits did not start until approximately the 50's. When a person requests a look up for 1920 in a certain area it would mean looking at the entire year of newspapers page by page, article by article, and this is very time consuming as one could expect. If they put the persons date of death in their request, it narrows the possibilities down to maybe two or three issues which makes the researchers job so much easier. I think most people that have never looked for an obit don't realize what a task it can be to find one sometimes. If the person was not a prominent citizen and widely known, their obit might just be one line in a community news section, small print, and no bold name preceeding the notice. This is not a gripe, just a helpful suggestion for our listers. Thanks Tom S

    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members: I just want to take a moment to remind you that you should never give information on living persons in your messages without their permission or the permission of their parents if they are children. The most important reason for this is the right to privacy. You also need to remember that anything you post goes into the archives of that list and stays there. It cannot be removed but it can be copied and added to any ones site out there in the world of the internet. This may not seem real important, but I promise it will become so when you are surfing the web one day and come across a site with your children's names, grandchildren's names, where they live and how old they are. I continue to thank you for your support. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

A very kind person emailed me an address to the musuem but when I sent email, it came back as undeliveralbe. Please contact me again concerning this email address. Questions. Is there a farm directory for the period of 1900 to 1909 the area around Claremore and Ooglah? If there is and someone has access to it, please look for CAUDLE, Isham Wesley, wife Nellie, son Ross and daughter Grace. Would this directory also list midwifes in the area for the same time period. Trying to find out for sure what the date was when the CAUDLE Family left OK and went to NM. Thanks for the help. Avie
