3. For the record, my father, Glenn Hannegan , worked all around Oklahoma from 1922 until 1950 when he was transferred into Canada. He worked first for Gypsy Oil driving a water truck, then when Gypsy became part of Gulf Oil he worked on the rigs. I would be interested in some of the names that might be involved just in case. I have pictures of Dad and his crew with one of the first metal rigs, mounted on a truck ready to move to another location. 3. Hello Pete, I might be able to help you get a lot of info about your pictures if you have any way of getting the pictures (or copies) to me. I know an old (92) long line skinner that can tell you tales about the oilfield 'till the cows come home. Still sharp as a tack, I'm sure he could either ID the pictures or tell you where to take them to find out. If you can get them in a scanner and send them to me, I'll get them to him for his opinion. 2. This site lists immigrant records from Ellis Island from the late 1800's through the 1930's. It's a brand new site and it is extremely busy, you might not get in, but keep trying. Toward the bottom of the introduction page you will see the word "continue" that looks like a link, click on that and if you're among the fortunate ones you'll get in. I don't know if this site is fee based or not. I just saw it on the network news here on the night it went online. American Family Immigration History Center http://www.ellisislandrecords.org
