Dear all Listmembers. I have a big favor to ask of everyone. My mom will be celebrating her 89ths birthday soon. She has heart trouble and is in the beginning states of Alzhemiers. My brother and I are writing a book about our ancestors and all and want to give it to her this year at her birthday. I may have already sent this to this list and if there are ones that are upset, I greatly apologize. i am trying to find newspaper articles, pictures or maybe someones grandparents that knew them and had a story to tell. This book is for our family only. I have no plans to have it published or the likes. This is for my mom since we have already lost our dad. If you wish to furnish a picture or story or newspaper article, your name will be added to the book as provider of the item. If you do provide something and DO NOT want your name mentions I will HONOR YOUR WISHES and not mention your name in the book. If anyone is interested in help, I thank you in advance. If you need to know more about the names of the surnames mentioned aboove I will be happy to provide that information. Thank you so much May God bless you and yours Avie New Mexico

Barbara, If you are looking up Cherokee land allotments, would you please look up George Washington Walker around Welch and Vanita area ? Thank you so much ! Rebecca
I'm sorry listers but this schedule does not show Cherokee or any of the Five Civilized Tribes. Hi Barbara, Would you please be so kind to look up ann parker? She was allotted land through the Cherokee Nation in 1906 or so. I would sure appreciate it. thank you, Cheryl
Hello everyone, Announcing the new OK/IT GenWeb Special Project Page - Native American Research Project @ http://www.rootsweb.com/~itgenweb/NARP/index.html. Focus of this project is the 1891 Schedule of Allotments to the Cheyenne and Arapaho Reservation area that includes Beckham, Blaine, Canadian, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Kingfisher, Roger Mills and Washita Counties. Listing of the Kingfisher County allottees is complete. In the mean time if you have an ancestor allotted in one of the other counties, I'll be glad to look-up the name(s) on the list of 3329 allottees. Information from the 1891 Schedule of Allotments shows the Allotment Number, Indian Name & English Name if either were known, Male or Female, Age and the legal land description of the allotment. This project also includes Birth, Marriage, Death Records and Heirs of an Allottee so if you have an ancestor traced to the allotments, won't you please visit and share your research? A special 'Thank you' to Marti and to LaRae and Eireann, coordinators of the Kingfisher County page, for all their assistance in this project. Barbara Clayton CheyenneOkie@aol.com OK-ITGenWeb, Native American Research Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~itgenweb/NARP/index.html
Barbara Clayton, I would appreciate your checking for Lillie/Lily J. Patterson - Proctor, Cherokee Nation allotee. She and her husband Noah Proctor were first in Jones County, then in Noble and Osage counties. Your generosity is appreciated by many. M. Dear List Members: If you are unsubscribed from the list, and it is not what you wanted, just re-subscribe yourself. If for some reason your address bounced several times, at no fault of your own, the system removes your address from the list. So if you see it happening to you all you have to do is re-subscribe yourself or send me a message and I will take care of it for you. Please be careful and DO NOT OPEN ANY MAIL WITH AN ATTACHMENT unless you are 100% sure you know what it is and even then run a virus scan. You cannot get a virus through the Rootsweb mailing list, but you can receive it from members of the list who's computer system has a virus. As soon as I know one of our members has a virus I unsubscribe them until they can clean their system. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns as to his list or suggestions for the benefit of all the members. Contact me personally please KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net For your enjoyment, this link was sent to me to share with you. In 1926 she married Clay LEWIS in Lamar Co. TX. They had Marvin LEWIS 12-23-1926 and Dortha LEWIS 1933 both in Lamar Co. Marvin was abandoned at age 3. Hannah is said to have went back to OK with her daughter Dortha. Dortha later married a COLLEY and then his brother after her husbands death. In 1961 Hannah and her husband H O HARRIS attended the funeral of Marvin. At that tie she was rumored to have gone back to OK. I can't seem to locate her or Dortha. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank You Pam
On the OKGenweb site, you will find a link to all of the known funeral homes in Oklahoma. http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb Vickie Neill Taylor flip@okplus.com
Have you done any Census research on your family? It appears that you need to research the 1880 and 1900 Census for Robert Hughes Wilson with his son William Hughes Wilson in the household. You need to begin with the Soundex of 1900 in Okllahoma and see if you can find. You would probably need to search the 1880 Census in Arkansas.
